What to check before ordering bathroom products

Confirm the specification together

Use model references, dimensions and finishes rather than a collection of loosely related links. Check the fittings as a set: a basin, tap, waste and furniture unit all need to work together. Ask the person planning the installation to review the proposed specification before ordering.

Check the route and storage

Measure access through doors, stairs and tight turns. A fitting that works in the bathroom still needs to reach it. Decide where products can be safely stored without blocking household access or work areas.

Ask about delivery format and handling requirements. Agree who will be present, what needs checking immediately and how missing or damaged items will be dealt with.

Keep the responsibilities explicit

If you buy products yourself, discuss how that affects delivery dates, missing components and the fitting schedule. If the installer supplies them, make sure the quote names what is included and any choices that remain open.
